Brice Krummenacker is a French photographer whose aesthetic is somewhere between futuristic and every sci-fi movie we have ever loved.
He creates visual that are both fascinating and strange. Kummenacker layers bold color choices with interesting visual effects then packages them into classic cinematic compositions. One of Kummenacker’s series is a character he created named Robert Maurice-Debois. He is the modern extraterrestrial. Robert goes to the beach and wear sweaters just like anyone else. His world is far more vibrant and colorful than our own. Kummenacker pairs portraits of Robert with photographs of his landscape. It’s a rugged world that is equal in color to the extraterrestrial himself. Kummenacker has even created an Instagram diary for the extraterrestrial, where he exhibits this series. Kummenacker’s other works exude the same strangeness and otherworldliness. Juxtaposition is one of the themes within his all of his photographs. He is pushing color against opposite color or comparing two images side by side. This creates interesting visuals, which can be seen on his own website.
