Shot between 2006 and 2013 in rural Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Wyoming, Lucas Foglia's series Frontcountry explores the low-populated areas of our country currently undergoing a transformation fueled by mining and energy development. Documenting the lives and landscapes effected by the energy industry, Foglia's perspective is one very few people have seen. The photos explore the intimate and delicate relationship between the land and the people who rely on.
