Los Intocables

June 04, 2014

In his controversial series “Los Intocables”, Cuban artist Erik Ravelo takes on issues that pose a threat to the innocence of children around the world. From sex trafficking to gun violence, Ravelo uses an in-your-face approach with his photographs. Each images depicts a child with a blurred face that appears to be crucified on the back of an individual that represents the issue being addressed. The photographs are titled with the name of the country where the addressed issue is prevalent. Demanding the attention of the viewer, Ravelo’s images exist both to raise awareness and stand as a call for action. Watch a video about the project here.
