Géraldine Freyeisen moved from Paris to Los Angeles a few years back and as a result of her two habits of walking (exposed her to the large amount of people living in the streets) and smoking (a reason to start a conversation), the photographer began to document the occupants of downtown’s Skid Row. “I was struck by everyone’s beauty and style and in January 2013, I started shooting around, from West Hollywood, to Hollywood, to DTLA, not knowing where this was going to take me,” says Freveisen. She goes on to say, “Every day, in the streets, I witness fashion - a kind that would make designers turn green with envy.” Shooting entirely in film, the project is ongoing and you can see even more at Theswagabonds.
