“Just Mothers” by Sarah Pabst is a black-and-white series depicting two teenage mothers in Monte Chingolo, a slum in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Pabst explained that, above all else, this photo story is a “a story of love,” and is meant to represent the young womens' “daily struggle to survive, the intent to provide a better future for their daughters, to finish school and work at the same time, to build a house and to protect them from the present violence and poverty that surrounds them.” Pabst searches for the unseen moments of weakness and joy in both the mother to child relationship and the relationship between two friends trying to navigate an often frightening world. A poignant collection of images is produced.
