John Yuyi is the voice or rather the eye of every Internet bred millennial, providing a fresh and innovative take on art about the Internet, avoiding the tired imagery of pastel desktop backgrounds and selfie sticks that has become all too common on our Tumblr dashboard.
His work is a melting pot of mixed media works, utilising unconventional objects such as raw meat, flowers and even instant noodles. One of her most arresting pieces is the Skin on Skin series where Yuyi has transferred images of her naked body on to raw pigs flesh, forcing us to consider whether she is objectifying or liberating herself. Since coming from the New York scene to London Yuyi has gained an enviable 28 thousand Instagram followers, and ironically even though most of her work is about social media platforms such as this it cannot be posted due to Instagrams nudity policy.
