With summer in full swing and an inevitable variety of traffic-heavy road trips to come, it’s important to fully utilize your inability to stop working and nurse that surplus of away-from-studio separation anxiety by picking up some emergency summer reading.

One hot pick of the summer is Incandescent, a bi-annual color film zine showcasing emerging international photographers. Currently curated and produced by Marissa Csanyi, and Helen Jones, it is based out of Portland, Oregon through Pine Island Press. The publication was primarily created to provide artists an opportunity to share their work free of charge.

To pick up an issue to pour over or glamorize your dashboard with, you can shop Incandescent here. If you are craving a project to take part in, Incandescent happily refuses to charge any submission fees, and lucky for us analog-savy workaholics, the deadline for Issue Ten, marked for release in late August, has been extended to June 30th. To submit, email [email protected] up to 12 examples of your work and your website if you have one. They are seeking color only / film only work. Further information regarding the publication can be found on the Incandescent Zine website.
