Martina Hoogland Ivanow's latest publication combines two photographic projects Satellite (2009–2010) and the more recent Circular Wait presented in separate volumes in a single printed slipcase published by the Stockholm design team Sandberg & Timonen through their imprint Livraison. Within it, she explores our, often artificial and contradictory, relationship with nature: Her work characterized throughout by her signature muted palette and an affecting use of shadows and light defining an uneasy dark aesthetic that invites introspection. A third volume includes two texts an essay by Estalle af Malmborg and a conversation with the Swedish painter Karin Mamma Andersson.
