Cuba in black and white through the lens of Anna Mia Davidson

May 09, 2017

Anna Mia Davidson is a photographer based in Seattle, Washington, who believes strongly in the power of images to influence, inspire, and impact the way we see the world around us.

In 1999, in her mid-20s, Davidson visited Cuba for the first time to capture her vision of this isolated Caribbean island nation with her camera. Davidson made further trips to capture the “Soul” of Cuba.  In her book “Cuba: Black and White,” she definitely captured what she was determined to do. Her photographs reflect the resilience, ingenuity and spirit of the Cuban people during the embargo against them. You can experience Cuba like it’s never been seen before.  This book is available for purchase directly from the Steidl here.
