Stephen Shore has etched himself into photography’s history. He, along with photographers like William Eggleston, brought color photography into the fine art world. Color photography premiered to terrible reviews in 1976 at the Museum of Modern Art. Despite the reviews, is sparked a change in fine art photography. Shore was launched into the art world and even spent some time alongside Andy Warhol in New York City, while photographing him

These days Shore is still creating photos while his older work still inspires young artists. Unlike many photographers of his time, Shore has an Instagram account. There are posts added very frequently. They echo Shore’s iconic snapshot style. Some reminiscent of photographs he's taken in the past. The posts follow Instagram’s square format and always are without editing or filters. Shore seems to be leaning more towards nature looking at his recent posts. He occasionally post throwbacks from the time he spent with Andy Warhol in New York City or to his past works. Shore uses it differently like photographers do, he is photographing around him and posting. Most would just post current work. Shore seems to be using it playfully as a photographic sketchbook. It is amazing that young photographers can follow a photographic legend like Stephen Shore on a social media site. It gives us a view of his photographic, visual thinking.
