Until March 5th, California-based photographer Aline Smithson will be raising funds through her Kickstarter campaign to publish her first significant monograph of portrait photography. The book will contain over 100 photographs from 18 different bodies of work and contain both color and silver gelatin printed works. Smithson’s subjects range from children, animals, and celebrity inspired characters. Smithson explains, “I want to create photographs that evoke a universal memory. Photography allows me to find beauty in the mundane, joy in every day life, humor in aging, and the ability to examine a deeper self”. The book will be published by the Magenta Foundation and donations can be made HERE.
