A New Face: Photographs By Chris Bang

May 29, 2016

Christopher Bang (born 1995) is a young photographer currently attending School Of Visual Arts. By documenting his girlfriend, friends and the daily occurrences in his life, Bang’s work investigates what it feels like to be in a relationship and explores the intimate ephemeral aura that surrounds him.

He accomplishes this feeling by juxtaposing photographs of lovers, strangers and landscapes in his work. He has interned and worked with the world renowned Ryan McGinley. He currently resides in the East Village, walking around the city documenting the everyday yet unusual moments with his 35mm rangefinder. Bang's photographic influences include Nan Goldin, Mary Ellen Mark, Ryan McGinley and Chad Moore.
