Patterns and Paintings by Saskia Pomeroy

August 06, 2012

Basic geometric forms and good use of colors are hard to turn down, and Saskia Pomeroy is an artist and illustrator working out of London who seems to know this well. Her commercial clients are a respectable list including Folk Clothing, Topman and H & M. Her use of pattern and illustration work equally well for fashion as for a fine art print. The works aren't exclusively confined to design, but they have apparent connections to it. Her gouache still life paintings reveal a highly stylized representation that maintains the same appreciation for simplified forms and refined color usage. Here is a selection of her very eye-pleasing combinations of color, geometry, and composition.
