Always a Juxtapoz favorite, NYC-based Erik Parker will have over 28 artworks that span his 20-year-career on display in Millennial's Dilemma at HOCA in Hong Kong starting on November 15, 2018. It's what you would call the mid-career survey, if you are keeping score at home.

The title of the show takes its name from a 2015 painting by Parker, noted in the gallery above. Parker's works have always examined a communication overload, with layers and layers of pop and underground cultural references in each canvas. "I hope whoever gets to spend time looking at my paintings can see something new in it every time," Parker says of his works, and he's not being humble. His works almost become a practice of how to look at art, how to find new meanings, details and ways of communication. Lauren Every-Wortman, the exhibition curator at HOCA, notes, "Viewing Parker's artworks is like witnessing a visual freestyle rap...," which takes on new meaning when you notice even the artist adds hints of hip-hop culture into the nooks and crannies of his works.

The show is on view through Decmber 7, 2018.
