Lee Chen-Dao recently opened Super Power at AKI Gallery in Taipei. This time his figures are no longer confined to the space inside the frames of his paintings but have extended themselves to a third dimension.
For Lee Chen-Dao, while the hero figures in movies are representations of justice and possess all the good qualities one could possibly have, in reality, there are lots of people who might look like heroes but deep within they are pretentious. In our current "society of idolization," he says, "if you look like a hero, then it makes you a hero."
