Even though we had a bit of sadness in our normal Miami Art Week schedule being postponed until (at least) 2021, we have quite enojoyed how some galleries and curators were looking at Miami as more a concept and mythical state of mind this year than a physical place. One of the group shows that caught our eye for the upcoming weeks and close of 2020 is Greetings From Miami, a group exhibition curated by Raul Barquet on view at Hashimoto Contemporary NYC from December 19th—January 9th.

Having participated in the Miami art fairs since 2013, Hashimoto Contemporary has a long standing history of bringing our curatorial programming to the sun-bathed city. While the art world is unable to descend upon Miami this winter due to Covid-19, the gallery is bringing the art fair to New York City in a more controlled environment that will enable safe, socially-distant viewing. Featured artists were tasked with creating a piece of art measuring 16” x 20”. Featuring work of a wide variety of styles, the exhibition is unified by the scale, creating a cohesive installation.

Participating artists include: Laura Berger | Jeffrey Cheung | Kevin Cyr | Thomas Danthony | Gregory Euclide | Mia Farrington | Jeremy Fish | GATS | Lizzie Gill | Dan Gluibizzi | Eric Haacht | Andrew Hem | Jessica Hess | Seonna Hong | Mary Iverson | Saïd Kinos | Hannah Knox | Augustine Kofie | Corey Lamb | Ness Lee | Petites Luxures | Jérémie Marié | Chris Martin | Josie Morway | Jess Mudget | Hilda Palafox | Daisy Patton | Joel Daniel Phillips | Ferris Plock | Nathan Ritterpusch | Damion Silver | Tony "Rubin" Sjoman | Rachel Strum | Kristin Texeira | James Thistlewaite | Madeleine Tonzi | Jaime Brett Treadwell | Kelly Tunstall | Una Ursprung | Anna Valdez | Ben Venom | Emilio Villalba | Andrew Watch | Brooklyn Whelan | Chelsea Wong | Bryce Wymer | Alex Ziv | Ravi Zupa.
