How does it feel to be sun sick? pt.2 Gallery presents this solo exhibition featuring a new series of paintings by the Oakland based artist Cannon Dill.
Sun Sick moves away from the metro of the artist’s 2018 show entitled Dim, which was firmly grounded in city pavement, into a sultry sojourn of reflection where it poses a question. Those rays seduce with delicious warmth, but at what point, do they induce torpor and delirium? Sun Sick sheds light on feelings of heat, pressure, community and decision-making through imagery that ranges from naïve figuration to bold graphics.
Sun Sick opens August 10th with an opening reception from 12 noon to 10 pm and artists talk at 4 pm, and is on view through September 6, 2019.
