Mirus Gallery is excited to bring internationally acclaimed artist Bond Truluv to Denver for his solo exhibition Access Granted. Berlin based Bond Truluv is an artist at the forefront of combining Augmented Reality with analog artworks. Whether he is inventing a new instrument for a spray can or hiding NFCs in his artworks, Bond Truluv is constantly incorporating new technologies to his repertoire. This exhibition features a variety of multi-media artworks composed of architecture, symbols of technology, and graffiti animated by augmented reality. The exhibition opens Friday April 29, with a VIP & Press preview 6-7pm featuring complimentary cocktails, followed by the opening reception 7-10pm. The exhibition remains on view through May 27, 2022.

“The current aesthetic of my work plays with classical as well as digital motifs alike, aiming to build free chains of associations without becoming too concrete," Truluv said of the show. "Resembling the transience of a dream, I try to invite the viewers to embark on an abstract journey through their own subconsciousness, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction, the analog and the digital world.”

Compiling this new body of work started as a journey aiming on the arrangement of fragmented lettering alongside objects that would create a maximum of depth in dimension, leading on towards a certain display of the dichotomy of the digital age and its analog counterpoints. Architectural elements are found alongside anamorphic illusions, meeting elements from trompe l ́oeil as well as graphically fragmented letters and typography, rooting to the strong Graffiti background of the artist. Reflective materials play a vital role in the surreal arrangements, where physics often seem to be disabled by default. The architectural illusion of depth is underlined by the additional Augmented Reality (AR) layer of each piece that the viewers can experience through a customized app on their smartphones. This interactive element adds a special dimension to the shown work, revealing hidden layers of animations, sounds and movement that invite the viewer to actively engage with the piece in order to discover its true ghost in the shell.
