NYC-based painter Austin Lee, part of the Juxtapoz x Superflat exhibition co-curated by Takashi Murakami, headed to Tokyo to show at Takashi's Kaikai Kiki Gallery and present a series of "Serious Works." Austin is one of our favorite painters working today, as he is able to create works with a digital aesthetic but with acrylic finish.

“I think I probably have been using Photoshop a lot longer than I’ve been painting, so for me, Photoshop is a natural way of solving problems,” Lee says. As the gallery notes, "These are the words of the artist whose artistic process seems to reflect the ever fluid identity of the contemporary human being that constantly oscillates between the virtual and the real."
