We stopped into the opening of SF-based Charmaine Olivia's solo show, Ritual, at Shooting Gallery in San Francisco this past Saturday night. The exhibit features realist paintings mixed with fantasy, surrealistic imagery, surrounded by installation works.
As Shooting Gallery notes, "In her first ever solo show in San Francisco, Ritual explores the themes of magic and earth energies within a series of imagined females from a mythology of the artist's own creation. The gallery will be transformed into a temple of altars for each of Olivia's demigods; each surrounded by installations of magical items, and other smaller artworks that pay homage to the central female. The exhibit will be on display through February 4, 2012 and is free and open to the public."
Through February 4, 2012
