Simon Wald-Lasowski is a freelance photographer and art director.
He lives in Amsterdam and graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2004. On his 'Mother Earth' piece: 'The Volkskrant Magazine asked me to illustrate an article about Breasts, Boobies, Tits, Jugs, Knockers, Melons, etc...
The theme of the article was wide and ranged from the origins of breasts, to their sexual, aesthetic and nurturing functions.
Finding an original take on the theme, a subject so widely visually explored, was no easy task. But I came up with this 'mother earth' solution. A latex breast mounted on a globe structure. In the tradition of the photographer using himself as a model, I photographed myself drinking from the source.'
