For the past 14 years Sarah Elise Abramson has devoted much of her life to art and in particular, photography. Abramson is now 25 years old and lives in San Pedro, CA. After spending most of her childhood in Torrance, CA, she went on to study photography at several schools including Parsons School of Design in New York City and Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. About a year and a half ago, she became very interested in the dynamic between vulnerability and strength. She started shooting friends and women she admired at their most vulnerable, in the nude. Abramson shoots mainly with a Polaroid SX-70 camera. The intimacy and magic of the small square pictures that develop before your eyes only enhances the raw beauty of these images.
Abramson currently works as a professional panini maker and is apprenticing as a fine art print maker. She has two cats, a teal house, and loves a good grilled sandwich.
"In our modern digital age, the polaroid is already becoming a relic of the past...Like a painting, a polaroid becomes an irreplaceable treasure and object of desire, as only one person may own the original." - Andreas H. Bitesnich
