Ouka Leele was born in Madrid in 1957 under the name of Barbara Allende. She always wanted to be a painter but discovered photography as another medium of looking at figurative work. She invented a fresh and original way of looking at images and became part of the nation's "Movida" movement. With a contemporary approach, she is able to define seduction and provocation by playing with the concept of beauty. She has never regarded photography to be anything other than a tool to render the beauty in reality.
