FEELS is somewhere between a small music festival and a top notch group art exhibition. It's a homegrown, independently run event that started as a group show in a warehouse, put on by a small group of friends in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since then, it's grown into a full-blown festival event, bringing together musicians, artists, printing presses, and more, from the Bay, L.A., and more recently, from around the world.
The next iteration of the festival, FEELS 6, is coming up this weekend, June 15th and 16th, at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, California. This year, there will be performances by Kelis, Princess Nokia, Mykki Blanco, Bbymutha, Yves Tumor, as well as some amazing visual artists, including Chaz Bear (aka Toro y Moi), Lonnie Holley, Jeffrey Cheung and Unity, Kesh, Sadie Barnette, Muzae Sesay, Dicko Chan, Yetunde Olagbaju and lots more. The festival will also be working in partnership with the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA), and hosting some psychedelic and experimental film work from the PFA archive.
