Mark McCloud has been creating and collecting LSD art since the 1970s, when tabs of acid first became illustrated. In his collection, the blotter paper is either silkscreened or lithographed. His current show, at Fifty24SF gallery, also exhibits enlarged forensic photographic prints of the artwork.

Normally he keeps the (now likely defunct) LSD framed in his collection in his San Francisco home, which has created occasional legal problems. He's had to convince courts that he's not distributing narcotics. The DEA has charged him with conspiracy to distribute, but were unable to convict him.

Currently a collection of his work is up in San Francisco at Fifty24SF gallery. McCloud says, "This show focuses on the blotter art that I obtained or created through my 50 years of love for The Grateful Dead ." The show will run for a month.
