May 1st marks the opening day for Manifest Justice, a ten-day art exhibition and series of events in LA that aims to  “unite artists and activists whose work addresses incessant violence on the streets, economic insecurity, and systematic disenfranchisement of constitutional rights that plage communities across the country.” Over 150 artists, including Juxtapoz favorites such as Emory Douglas, Swoon, Pat Perry, Hank Willis Thomas and James Jean, contributed work to support this powerful, necessary conversation that is “designed to ignite dialogue and inspire new ideas about healthy communities, social justice human rights, and celebrate the diversity and creativity that help reimagine justice all over the world.” Power to the people, with art as the catalyst.
