Look Inside: March 2012 Issue

February 16, 2012

The March 2012 issue of Juxtapoz, featuring Andrew Schoultz on the cover, is now on newsstands and on our webstore. In a weird way, this issue began on the shores of Norway and ended in a desert in Tucson, Arizona, and found itself in the SFMoMA and in a studio in Miami, Florida. And we followed filmmaker, author, and performance artist Miranda July as she released her newest book, It Chooses You.

For the cover story, SFMoMA curator, John Zarobell, who arranged Schoultz's show with Paul Klee at the museum, sat down to discuss how Shoultz has gone from prolific muralists to prolific fine artist with museum shows. Photographer Austin McManus followed Schoultz down to Tucson for the Boneyard Project and this epic portrait.

Mr McManus also caught up with San Francisco sign painter, Jeff Canham. Love the color scheme of this shot. And Canham knows a thing or a thousand about colors.

Filmmaker, author, artist, and all-around creative (who is also married to Juxtapoz alum, filmmaker Mike Mills), saw a new film, The Future, be released in 2011, and just had a new book published, It Chooses You. Kristin Farr catches up with the July...

Down in Florida, Jen Stark is making some of the most exciting hand-cut paper sculptures we can think of... Gabe Scott finds out what is going on in the real Miami art scene.

Donny Miller is far more witty than we are, so we will just say that we like his kid in this portrait.

And David Choe sits down to explain his good friend and collaborator DVS1, after we convinced DVS in Norway that it was a good idea. Somewhere, Jude Law is impressed...
