Juxtapoz @ E3 2012: Borderlands 2 can make you an army of one

June 10, 2012

The loot ridden, fun hoarding title known as Borderlands is at it again. Rampaging around with your friends, while taking down huge enemies, and pillaging their gear has never looked so good.

This title has become known for it's simply huge selection of guns, upgrades, and perks which make for some of the most unique FPS gaming around. With millions and millions of weapons at your disposal, this game frees you from the common occurrence of sticking with one gun or another because it's your favorite. While you may have a favorite at any given time, once a enemy drops his load, that could all change. Plus, any given challenge could require any style of gun, requiring you to carry a multitude of them, and you can carry a lot!

The games unique cell shaded style also brings new fun to the table. Without the limitations of having to be too realistic, they are able to create a multitude of levels and enemies for you to slaughter. Ranging from monsters to robotic suits worn by soldier you are never quiet sure what they will throw at you next. One thing is for sure, the upgrade system found in the game lets you prepare to be ready for anything. Spending the credits you earn to upgrade defensive, offensive, and team based skills in the game, let you use the equipment you are carrying in a new way with each upgrade.

With four different classes to play as, and the ability to play in co-op mode, this game is a ton of fun to play with friends. Fast paced action, gravity defying jumps, and drifting vehicles ensures you don't find a lull in the gameplay. Can't wait for the full game to come out, so I can compare my Army like inventory of weapons with friends, and trying to take down the games protagonist Handsome Jack. —Nick Lattner / Juxtapoz Video Game Editor
