A monumental, site-specific public artwork that will bring color to the desert landscape near Las Vegas.

Internationally-renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone is creating a public artwork that will evoke the art of meditative rock balancing, and will mark his place in the history of Land Art. As Public Art is redefining the identities of places around the world, Rondinone's ambitious endeavor, Seven Magic Mountains, strengthens Nevada’s identity as a place that celebrates and supports the work of interesting artists, and draws attention to Las Vegas as it evolves into a city also known for the arts.

Presented by Art Production Fund and Nevada Museum of Art, Seven Magic Mountains has been nearly five years in the making. The installation, comprised of seven individual towering sculptures, will be situated in the desert on the far southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard along Interstate 15, approximately a half hour from downtown Las Vegas. The piece will be on view for two years beginning in May 2016.
