If there was ever a contemporary artist that would fit with Classical art or antiquities, it would be Nicolas Party. His work fits into that canon so seemlessly. The abstractions and landscapes he paints, the faces and sculptures all have a sense of centuries old aesthetics. That is why his new show, Triptych, at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan, is the perfect pairing of Party, putting his work next to

It is part of a series of exhibitions, started in 2011, displaying works by contemporary artists inspired by the museum’s masterpieces.
