Coinciding with Hong Kong Art Month, Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation will be presenting a comprehensive survey solo exhibition by Winter 2019 cover artist, KAWS, from March 25 March until April 14, 2019. A few days earlier, continuing his projects in Korea and Taiwan, which are setting new standards for large public works and unofficially breaking records for the technical specs of the installations, the NYC-artist will be presenting a new 37-meter inflatable sculpture from March 22nd—31st in Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong.

Curated by Germano Celant, KAWS: Along The Way will be exploring the prolific artist's creative output from the last decade, exhibiting a wide array of his design collectible figures, paintings, sculptures, and pieces never before presented in the region. After many projects and exhibitions held in Hong Kong (the last one being a solo show with Perrotin last year), our Winter 2019 issue cover artist will be back for a survey that will thematically and chronologically introduce some of his most recognized works and characters created from 2008 onwards. From iconic COMPANION or CHUM imagery to more recent YOU series, this major showcase will display a selection of studio 37 works, including larger-than-life outdoor sculptures that are to be presented on custom build pier in the world-famous harbour. Welcoming visitors outside of the venue, the two companions piece titled ALONG THE WAY, will be bringing famed NYC artist's signature work to the public sphere. Recently released as a collectable figure, this event will mark the official global debut of this sculpture. —Sasha Bogojev
