Are you into insects? Are you also into Star Wars? Well then, Brighton-based illustrator Richard Wilkinson may be the artist to satisfy this strange cross-section of interests.

Wilkinson's hybrid Star Wars-insect illustrations are not only lovely explorations into the idea of design but also a subtle commentary on two intersecting areas of culture and classification.

Wilkinson writes of this series:
“It seemed to me the best way to celebrate that link between the world of natural history classification and that of modern obsessions, while at the same time indulging my own love of painting these incredible forms and colors and surfaces, and my own obsessions from modern culture, was to try to create insects, plants, animals, etc. that resemble these icons of the modern world.”
