Christina Mrozik's Natural 'Portraits'

March 03, 2014

Christina Mrozik has spent a lot of time with nature, having grown up on The Grand River in Michigan. She says she was inspired by its inhabitants at an early age, blending the natural world with her own understanding of the human condition. Christina mostly draws with ink and marker on paper, adding bursts of color with watercolor and acrylic pigments. She views her process most similar to portraiture since the drawing helps makes sense of peoples' histories and abilities.
