Caia Koopman has been illustrating for an upcoming book release titled the Umijoo Project. From September 7th-30th at Santa Cruz' Art Cave, she will be showing the finished illustrations together for the first time. The project has been funded in part by Patreon and Indiegogo contributors and is now nearing its scheduled final release around Christmas 2018. Although Patreon and Indiegogo contributors have been given access to pieces of the story, no one but Koopman and the book's writer Casson Trenor have seen the entire series together.
Here's some more info on the project from Koopman's website
"Umijoo is the wondrous tale of a young girl who, with the help of a little magic, journeys underwater to learn about the dangers facing our ocean directly from the creatures that call it home. The story endeavors not just to entertain, but to educate, enlighten, and inspire.
The show will take place September 7th – 30th in Santa Cruz, Ca at The Art Cave located at the University Business Park at 2801 Mission St, Santa Cruz, CA, 95060. This is a fantastic opportunity to view these works all together. There will a reception to inaugurate the show Friday Sept. 7."
