Antler Gallery
recently opened it doors in a new location last week, proudly featuring an amazing 3 person show with Allison Sommers, Stacey Rozich, and Morgaine FayeCurrently residing in; Brooklyn, Seattle, and Portland, the artists were chosen for the differences in their work as much as the similarities. The intention of the curators is to offer a show that weaves a collected narrative both from the strands that are akin and those that are entirely alien across the three distinct styles.

The intensely grotesque imagery of Allison Sommers fleshy abominations contrast starkly with the vibrant patterns adorning Stacey Rozich’s beasts that are in turn reflected within the glowing, ethereal characters created by Morgaine Faye.

The exhibition as a whole is intended to ebb and flow visually between comparison and contradiction while providing an overwhelming sensory stimulus. The balance here is only achievable because of the individual strength of the concepts and technical ability of each artist. Be sure to check out the feature with Antler Gallery in the August 2013 issue of Juxtapoz Magazine!!
