It took us a second, but then again, we didn't really enjoy watching the Super Bowl that closely this year anyway. But if Andy Warhol is going to be used in a commercial during America's annually #1 rated television event, it might as well be Andy Warhol unwrapping and eating a Burger King Whopper.

The backstory, according to Food & Wine, is that in the "1980s, pop artist and enduring icon, Andy Warhol sat down at a desk and ate a burger. That fact would be otherwise unremarkable except that Danish director Jorgen Leth had a camera rolling for what would become his 1982 film 66 Scenes from America, a project that stitched together images of everyday people, objects, and landscapes of American life." What ended up in the Super Bowl was a 45-second clip (hey, those ad slots are very expensive, even though it would have been better if it was the actual 4+ minutes of Andy eating like you see above) of Mr Warhol unwrapping and eating and dipping his Whopper into ketchup. We aren't a huge fan of the #EATLIKEANDY campaign idea, but hey, if some NFL bros are looking up Andy Warhol today, more power to it.
