2020 marks the ten year anniversary of 3x Juxtapoz cover artist Stephen "ESPO" Powers’ flagship project, A Love Letter For You and accompanying film. Filmed on location in Philadelphia while Powers completed a massive mural project, Jux contributor and filmmaker Joey Garfield created a movie that documented this unique experience in a time when the term “Street Art '' was just beginning to materialize and painting a large scale wall piece legally was still a relatively new idea. The film is humorous, heartfelt, and authentic in its approach to capturing this moment in contemporary art. It is also a veiled shout-out to a young graffiti writer named Timothy Curtis, who himself was a Juxtapoz cover artist and now accomplished fine artist.

Now, ten years later, and with love in the air as we approach Valentine's Day, Steve and Joey are presenting the film with a Q & A to follow at Nitehawk Cinemas in Brooklyn on Wednesday, February 12th at 7pm. As a special companion to the Love Letter film, Garfield and Powers will show Espo Runs The Show, chronicling Steve Powers’ 2005 Dreamland Artists Club project with rare footage of him repainting the legendary Cyclone Roller Coaster in Coney Island. For one night only!!!
