What a celebration it is to see museums begin to open around NYC, even with timed tickets, and how exciting it is to see the announcement of a collaboration between MoMA and our friends at Vans. Like their star-studded collaborations with Frida Kahlo and the Van Gogh Museum in recent years, this MoMA x Vans collection includes footwear, apparel and accessories featuring works in the museum’s permanent collection. Considering that MoMA has one of the most extensive vaults in the world, just imagine the possibilities of such a partnership.

Today we got to see some of the product details, including works by Dali, Pollock, Kandinsky, Monet, Munch, Lybov Popova and Faith Ringgold. Probably the most coveted piece in the collection has to be the Vans Old Skool Twist, featuring Dali’s surreal masterpiece. The Persistence of Memory, from 1931. Our personal favorite piece in the MoMA x Vans collection has to be the Classic Slip-On featuring Kandinsky’s Bauhaus-inspiring Orange work from 1923.

Take a look at some of the pieces from the collection above and check back on Vans and MoMA Design Store’s websites on September 30 for the first release of the collection. The apparel and footwear will also be available at both Vans and MoMA Design Stores’s in-store locations. A second artist release will launch in November 2020.
