Fake Holidays by Reiner Riedler

January 06, 2012

We as humans have evolved for thousands upon thousands of years, taught ourselves to harvest crops, cure diseases, fly aeroplanes, dam rivers, build world wide webs, go to the moon... but all we ever really wanted to do was build an adult playground in the desert of Dubai to be able to snowboard on artificial snow in a mall.

Photographer Reiner Riedler has created a photography series, Fake Holidays, where he captures humans quest to create fake and fantastic experiences for themselves wherever they go. Be it Vegas, Dubai, or the Greece portion of Europark in Germany, we want to imagine ourselves as somewhere and someone else whenever we can. And we spend a lot of time doing it.
