As a painter and conceptual installation artist, Simon Birch was born in UK, and has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 1997. Well known for his large figurative oil paintings, he has also been responsible for enormous multiple media installations. Most recently the 2010, 20,000 sq ft, Hope and Glory.
His work includes film, music, performance, installation, photography and with his management company, Future Industries, works in collaboration with a number of artists, designers, architects and other creative industries, locally and overseas. He is known for contributing to many educational institutions, engaging with students and the general public. He is represented internationally by Ben Brown Fine Arts.
