Detailed Paper Replicas of Trash by Carly Fischer

February 25, 2013

The crushed cans, candy wrappers, and empty cigarette packets in these photos are extremely detailed replicas made entirely with paper. The almost-perfect replicas are the work of Berlin-based visual artist Carly Fischer. Carly's sculptural installations "investigate the relationship between the local realities of places and their global reproduction as homogenised cultural clichés. Remixing the detritus that litters specific places with clichés sourced from surrounding visual culture, Fischer constructs generic paper model replacements. Inhabiting an ambiguously hybrid space, her installations merge deadpan re-enactments of reality with commodified cultural packages." (via junk-culture)
