The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York just re-opened with some exciting, futuristic new features, which is a big step for the only US museum dedicated to historical and contemporary design. Digital pens that collect data, huge touch-screen tables, and an immersion room that allows you to digitally change the wall paper on a whim. Sounds like a good time for a visit. Bonus: Illustrator Maira Kalman just curated an exhibit of 40 hand-selected objects from the museum's collection, displayed alongside items from her personal collection.
