Dutch designer Richard Hutten, whose play on the traditional oriental rug we showed you a few weeks ago, will soon be launching this colorful chair made from 545 stacked layers of fabric in Milan during his exhibition at Salone de Mobile. Hutten is well known for what he refers to as 'No sign of design' furniture: functional furniture in a highly conceptual and humorous style. 840 square meters of Divina fabric were used to build the The Layers Cloud chair, with colors referencing the layered rock pigments found in the Painted Desert in Arizona. "I wanted the design to be about the textile," said Hutten. "Rather than using material as a cover, I created an object with the material."
