Since launching its pioneering Art Can Contest, 10 editions ago, Pabst Blue Ribbon has championed the work of emerging creatives by awarding over $150,000 to artists and placing original art on over 400 million beer cans and bottles. To commemorate the contest’s milestone tenth edition, America’s favorite lager upped the ante by increasing this year’s prize money tenfold to $100,000 and awarding 10 winning artists $10,000 each.

Now fans and beer lovers across the globe are given their chance to have a say, as Pabst Blue Ribbon unveiled its Top 25 Semi Finalists. Partnering with Talenthouse to host the contest and open up submissions to their global pool of creatives, 25 shortlisted designs were whittled down from nearly 7,000 entrants from over 120 countries, criss-cross States, borders and styles, spanning illustration, graphic design, cartoons, conceptual art, and more.

With more than 18 US cities represented in the Top 25 designs and millions of can-bragging rights at stake with winning designs that will grace over 140 million cans alone this year, fans are encouraged to vote for their favorites online. Fan voting will run from February 2-18 with the final ten artists’ winning designs announced on February 23, 2022.

This year, Pabst Blue Ribbon has also enlisted the help of four reputable community judges to weigh in on the winning design. These include current Art Can Contest winner Ashley Dreyfus, 2019 Art Can Contest winner Tenbeetee Solomon aka Trap Bob, Talenthouse artist Andy Arrangoiz, and Art Director at Juxtapoz Magazine, Rosemary Pinkham.

The Art Can Contest is an example of Pabst Blue Ribbon’s decades-long commitment to supporting DIY culture, a core ethos of the beloved blue label that sees it embraced by independent creative communities of all types.
