It's back! The Natural Cannabis Company’s 7th annual international cannabis art competition High Art has just begun, and once again Juxtapoz will be helping with the contest. Created to celebrate art and the inspirational nature of cannabis, High Art challenges amateur and professional artists alike to create spellbinding visual art depicting each year’s theme.  This year’s theme seems to be perfect for the cannabis user: Magic. Magic could be interpreted literally through depictions of wizards, witches and magicians while others experience magic through faith, family or nature.

A quick reminder before you get started, entries will be excepted until 11:59pm on March 20th. Artists from around the world will compete for a pool of $50,000 in cash prizes, a feature in High Art magazine, exposure at prestigious art events and of course, international bragging rights! Last year’s contest brought in more than 4,500 entries from 129 countries with one artist winning the grand prize worth $25,000.  This year’s High Art 2020 grand prize winner will receive $15,000 USD plus a $10,000 donation made in their name to an international charity they select. The list of eligible charities includes The American Red Cross, Amnesty International, PETA, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders and the International Campaign to End Landmines.

In addition to cash prizes, top artists will see their winning artwork featured on The Natural Cannabis Company’s signature packaging, featured in the annual High Art magazine, on display at the High Art gallery located in Santa Rosa and promoted at prestigious art events, both in the United States and abroad.

“Both cannabis and art have a way of bringing people together, defying borders, class, religion, and culture,” says Dona Frank, High Art founder. “We want to eliminate boundaries, that’s why High Art is always free to enter and open to artists of all countries as long as they meet the age requirements. We also wanted the grand prize to reflect a global culture, so we selected international charities to benefit. So, wherever our winning artist lives, the donation is going to benefit an organization that serves their country and community.”
