Claire Tabouret, the French-born artist whose work merited a shout out in our recent recap of Art Basel 2019, is set to release her limited edition print with Avant Arte on June 26th. Ahead of her anticipated London debut with Almine Rech Gallery and following her successful Hong Kong debut with Perrotin, this release compliments her versatile practice that includes painting, drawing, and sculpting.

The Swimmer is based on an original acrylic on canvas painting that was exhibited at the artist's solo presentation with Night Gallery during Frieze in LA. Tabouret's intensive brushwork and bold color choice in full bleed present the figure of a girl, relaxing on the rock with a mountainous seaside landscape. Lurking through this leisurely interlude wafts the uncertainty and unease that haunts the time between childhood and adulthood, between the group and the individual. Through a disquieting choice of colors and intricate brushwork, the artist creates a mysterious mélange where the eye searches for focus, adding a delicious drama.

The Swimmer will be available in 75 editions, signed & numbered on the front, measuring 62cm x 43cm, and will be accompanied with a certificate of authenticity, shipped in a custom made wooden crate.
