After being named one of the Smithsonian's Top Mural Festivals in the world earlier this year, Murals In The Market returns to Detroit's Eastern Market as the team behind 1xRUN comes back for the fourth consecutive year. Juxtapoz has watched the festival grow since it's first year back in 2014, and will once again head out to watch as the festival adds new installations, exhibitions, dozens of murals and an epic block party with DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Soul Clap Revue.
Today 1xRUN has announced the 2018 Murals In The Market Print Suite, kicking things off with prolific Detroit artist Scott Hocking who unveils his latest installation "Seventeen Shitty Mountains" as part of this year's festival. The massive outdoor installation features 17 strategically placed cement viaducts.
The video above was created by 1xRUN as part of Murals In The Market 2018. The festival runs from Sept. 13th—22nd and will feature new murals by Tara McPherson, Ever, Bisco Smith, Ryan Doyle, Ann Lewis, Jesse Kassel, Leon Keer, Jillian Evelyn & more.
