There are a few icons of art and music that elicit a uniform appreciation of genius. There is no argument or debate that Ludwig van Beethoven is beyond iconic. Any utterance of the name Beethoven signifies the peak of music and classical compositions.

It's been 250 years since Beethoven's birth, and he is being matched with another master of his craft, the pyschedelic poster designer and artist John Van Hamersveld. John is another legend who's work defines an era; visuals that helped coin the visual vocabulary of 1960s psychedelia. As the head of design at Capitol Records, he illustrated album art for The Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, the Rolling Stones, KISS, and, who can forget, also created the stunning Endless Summer poster art that has been borrowed and re-interpreted for decades and set the standard for contemporary graphic design.

It's rare to get a chance to see Beethoven be re-examined in a contemporary light, and now with these two icons in mind, our friends 1XRUN are celebrating Beethoven's 250th birthday with a unique silkscreen print set by John Van Hamersveld. There are 4 colorways: Ode to Joy, Fidelio, Für Elise and Moonight Sonata. Each print is made in an edition of 100.
