With the increasing attention being garnered by the 3D theatrical release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Brisk Ice Tea will be opening a 24-hour pop-art experience and gallery in Los Angeles celebrating Star Wars' overarching influence on pop culture. Brisk's Brisk Bodega will showcase art from some old friends of Juxtapoz, including POSE and Mark Dean Veca, along with art from Artek, Jasper Wong, Leo Eguiarte, Dual Forces, Eye One, and Tristan Eaton. Each artist was given the mandate to create under the theme of Dark Side vs. Light Side.
The Brisk Bodega will be open to the public this Friday, February 3, 2012, from 3:00-11:00 p.m. (722 N Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90012).
You may have caught the Briskified Darth Maul and Yoda face off commercials that have been airing recently, and the Darth Maul character is featured on Brisk Raspberry Iced Tea 24-oz. cans and one-liter bottle.
Juxtapoz will be heading to a kick-off event at the Brisk Bodega on Thursday, February 2, and will have photos of the entire event and all the artwork inspired by Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Something tells us POSE has something good in store. It is in fact, Star Wars, inspired. With all the artists in mind, it should be a good one...
