ONE WEEK WITH 1UP: Martha Cooper and the legendary Berlin crew team up for new book with Carhartt WIP
We have a lot of friends on this project: this is the trailer for the upcoming book, "One Week with 1UP," project by the legendary photographer Martha Cooper, Ninja K and the 1UP Crew out of Berlin. And again, our friends at Carhartt WIP are publishing the book, and have the trailer for us today to check out. If you have ever had interest in European graffiti, you know 1UP, and if you have ever looked at a photo of street art or graffiti, chances are Martha Cooper shot that photo. She's the one behind the seminal Subway Art and Hip Hop Files: Photographs 1979 — 1984 (published by Carhartt WIP).
ONE WEEK WITH 1UP is a unique photography and art project created by the legendary New York photographer Martha Cooper, the Berlin-based photographer Ninja K, and the world-famous Berlin graf ti crew 1UP (One United Power).
The book explores a unique bond between the renowned documentary photographer — who, since the 1970s, has captured some of the most enduring images of the graf ti and hip-hop scenes — and one of world’s largest, most fearless modern-day graffti crews.
